Amil is a senior electrical engineer with more than 16 years of experience planning and designing power distribution systems for water and wastewater facilities, as well as other critical infrastructure. He specializes in medium- and low-voltage distribution, emergency and standby power systems, motor control centers, and electrical upgrades that maintain plant operations through complex construction phasing. Amil’s portfolio includes major upgrades at New York City Department of Environmental Protection water resource recovery facilities, large consolidation programs for regional sewer districts, tunnel and pump station power systems, and flood-mitigation electrical improvements for facilities affected by severe weather events.
His responsibilities range from one-line diagram development, protective relaying, equipment sizing, and power system analysis to staging plans, interim-power configurations, and design services during construction. He is known for his ability to manage complex, multi-building upgrades on aggressive schedules while maintaining plant operability and safety. He has experience delivering design–bid–build and design–build projects.
Amil holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of New York University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in New York State.
Outside of work, Amil enjoys playing cricket, hiking, and photography.
