Electrical Engineer

“I enjoy working at ELECSYS because the projects are challenging, the environment is collaborative, and there’s a real commitment to quality design.”

Maria is an electrical engineer with ten years of experience supporting electrical design for commercial, industrial, and transportation facilities. She develops construction documents and performs site surveys to capture existing conditions, producing one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and layout drawings for power distribution and lighting controls. Maria also prepares plans and riser diagrams for fire alarm and low-voltage systems, working closely with architects and mechanical and plumbing teams to coordinate equipment and device locations.

Her experience includes emergency alarm and blue-light system upgrades for Metropolitan Transportation Authority Construction & Development and New York City Transit, borough-based jail infrastructure for the New York City Department of Design and Construction, and tenant fit-outs, elevator replacements, and fire alarm upgrades for office and civic facilities. Maria reviews contractor shop drawings and requests for information, supports construction-phase field inspections and testing, and helps ensure that installations align with contract documents and applicable codes. She prepares deliverables using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and tools such as COMcheck and Visual Lighting.

Maria holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia. She also completed OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety and Health training.
